Here is a quick list of the funny sh&% you get on a regular basis when you have a two year old child. These are two comments she has made to us and their context. I swear that we don't live at the TV, really.

  • When I said "Baby, it's time to turn of the Goodnlght Show and go to bed", she responded "but daddy, there's more fun coming my way next..."
  • While pretending that her dollie was crying she said "don't worry Sarah, you can visit us online..."

Everyday I understand more and more why people with children are different. Not better or anything judgemental, just different. It is a different that I very much enjoy being.

I also have a student who is borderline obsessed with old Chapeeeelle show skits. The other day he was stomping on the IDL floor saying "F your mat Lance, F your mat..."

Thoughts at a fever pitch. OK, they aren't really that fast, I just have a lot of junk to cram in one post. Hence el bullitos

  • All-State was fun. Shockingly enough, it was the first time I have been for the entire weekend. My kid had fun and I had a great meeting. If you know the state of marching band in G@ then you will know what el Wolllllfe and I have been working on. We are now taking a different, more back door approach. I hope it helps...
  • I said back door approach
  • I love my family. I am excited about having our third (due July 31 if you haven't heard). For some reason, I am really excited about finding out the sex of #3. I don't care which it is, I just really want to know.
  • Blind kids can't sight read. Interesting...
  • Good things appear to be happening at work. More to come in the next few days.
  • Pre-LGPE concert was last night. We had both MS groups and all 3 HS groups play. Long night, but well worth it. MS kids got to hear what we are doing and play in a good place. Fun. I was also excited to let the MS directors hear the state of the Mill River bands. I am happy to say they were pleased.
  • I have two people joining me in St. Louis for the Police concert. Rock on bitches. Anyone else who would like to come, let me know soon. I can get one more reserved seat, but I'm buying them on Saturday.
  • It is better to be happy than right. Just want to let everyone know that I think that sentence is the key to my peace and joy post-job-one-and-marriage-one.

This whole Police reunion has got me going. As of today, the closest they are coming to ATL is St. Louis. I have actually convinced my wife that the $100 fan club membership, $100 tickets, gas, and hotel to go are worth it. I refuse to miss this. There are rumors of more dates in the U.S. and I really hope ATL is one of them. The Police do have a bit of history with the old Omni...

In doing some research I found out a cool factoid. Most people don't know that Henry Padovani was the original guitarist for the Police. They actually played as a quartet for a while after Andy joined. Story goes that Henry was so bad (outside the 2 chord punk early stuff) that Stuart would actually record the solos. Anyway, Henry went on to be a big exec. at IRS records after a few weak attempts at his own band. Cool story is that in 2006 he released a new album. Featuring this song. Playing bass is Sting and playing drums is Stuart Copeland. This is the first time since Nothing Achieving (1977) that the original members of the Police have recorded together.

The following are sentences I always prayed for or dreamed of hearing, but never thought would come to fruition. they are in order from most important to least:

  1. Honey, Jesus is here and he'd like you to come with him.
  2. We're the Police and we're back!
  3. Honey, Angelina J. is here. I didn't catch everything she said, but it was something about someone being naughty and needing a spanking.
  4. Joining us, in finals performance, from Hoschton, GA...

Hey, I'm Bu'wheat. 'Amember me?

I know I've been gone a while, so I may have no readers left, but here I go- con bullitz.

  • GMEA was fun. The clinics that I hosted went well and were well attended. I do not delude myself to think that it was anything I did, but have M.C. here was great. I love to hear him talk. I learned some things I never even thought about- color wheel stuff. Food was good.
  • I had 0 (zero) drinks at GMEA. This is a 1st for me. I don't plan to continue it, but it was nice to need to be fresh and want to go to things. Every night we would go "want to go out? No, I have to be at _____ at 8:30." Usually there is nothing that I want to go to...
  • This is a great music week for me. Prince at the SB and the Police at the Grammy's! Damn! My two favorite pop artists in the same week. Sweet!
  • My indoor drums and guard had good first shows. I am very happy with what's going on here. I know most people don't want anything to do with these things, but I truly enjoy them both. It is another creative outlet for me and I get of on the planning and watching it come together.
  • I got my marching band music for next year. I am very impressed with what our arranger was able to do. I was flipping through and noticed that no one's part is hard, but the whole thing is so intricate and complex it's unbelieveable. I am excited about what we should be able to do next fall.

All right, that's enough. I will try to be better about getting on and chatting.
